If you’re newly engaged or have been planning your wedding for a while I’m sure you have a favourite season, and especially one you’d like to get married in?
With weddings becoming popular all year round and not exclusive to the summer months, weekday weddings are also becoming increasingly popular.
Take a look at the trends for weddings during 2019.
Following two Royal Weddings last year, bridal shop owners are seeing brides opting for dresses with much simpler lines and styles. Those who favour the boho look are going for much more ethereal and lightweight designs - think layered floating fabrics with floral designs.
Couples tying the knot are also increasingly looking for alternative and unusual wedding venues to the more traditional Church ceremonies. Proposed changes to UK laws about outdoor weddings offers couples more freedom about where they say 'I do', meaning that beach and woodland weddings will rise in popularity.
Eco-conscious and sustainable weddings are also in vogue with couples choosing to have local in-season flowers, stationery printed on recycled materials, biodegradable confetti and organic menus. Choosing an outdoor venue can reduce your carbon footprint, as well as opting to be plastic-free.
Vibrant colours such as pinks, reds and oranges are all tipped to be popular in 2019 in terms of flowers and decor, while makeup focusses on the softer and natural look, with dewey complexions and a subtle eye. Flower crowns remain popular with brides as well as floral centrepieces for tables.
